Happy Thursday friends!
Today, I bring to you a new endeavor for me. If you follow me on Instagram (how many times do I say that in a month?), you may have noticed that I applied to be a part of a new Influencer group for Sephora.
How could I NOT want to be apart of a group named that?!
I actually didn’t know anything about this until my husband sent me an Instagram post he had seen (I mean, Alleluia that Matt decided social media was cool again) that explained about this new group Sephora was trying to put together.
Here is the jist of what the #SephoraSquad is all about (straight from Sephora’s website):
“We celebrate the most authentic and inspiring voices in the digital beauty space. We value unique, unfiltered, sorry-not-sorry storytellers, no matter the number of followers they have. That’s why the program offers long-term partnerships—a 2019 paid contract with Sephora—to those who share their beauty truths.
Ones who shout their triumphs and their struggles.
Ones who’ll try any trend once and not think twice about it.
Ones who leave heart emojis and thoughtful replies.”
So… I entered. You guys know that I am no expert in makeup or skincare. But you do know that I’ve been stretching my wings for the last few years, testing out, reading about new products and I absolutely love it!
The application questions for this were interesting! They asked a lot about my readers/followers, about beauty and how it’s played a role in my life, why I want to be apart of this squad.
And I didn’t lie! I promise!
I was honest and said that makeup and skincare were not something I was super interested in until recently. I had used the same makeup for so long (and hate change) so why bother trying other things out?
And then I realized that ‘Hey! Maybe this Clinique blush isn’t the greatest blush out there…’ Or ‘Ohhhhkay, I’ve used a powder compact for 15 years, this loose powder is awesome!’
Finding new products, telling you guys about things I’m desperately wanting to try or have tried and what works… it’s all fun! And I think that’s what makeup is suppose to do. It’s suppose to be fun!
So that’s why I want to be apart of this squad – I want to be able to bring new products to you guys and make it fun for all of us!
The next part of the process? Well Sephora wants my readers/followers to leave testimonials about why you follow me.
Maybe you follow me because you are my mom (shoutout Mary Ann) or my brother-in-law (shoutout Sam ((ps. he’s going to text five seconds after he reads that to tell me how happy he is he got a shoutout on the blog – God love him!)) and reading my blog is just a family duty.
Maybe you are an OG reader and have been reading my blog since 2006.
Maybe you came across my Instagram page after seeing my Goldfish Swim School posts.
But whatever the reason, can you leave a testimonial for me, telling why you like to read along or follow me?
All you have to do is click HERE – write a short ditty and go on with your day! I will never know if you did or didn’t post, so don’t worry! 🙂
But I do feel like this would be a fun experience for ALL of us if I’m able to make the Squad.
So… fingers crossed. They stop accepting applications on March 6. Semifinalists are picked on March 15 and the final group is announced March 19.
I don’t know what my chances are, but it will be fun to see how it all plays out! And yes, I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks in advance, friends!
