Friends, I have a problem.
A raccoon eye problem, if you will.
My eyes are SO dark! Not my eye color, but the lids of my eyes and under my eyes… incredibly dark.
I get the dark bags under my eyes – hello three kids, three big moves, dramatic Grey’s Anatomy and Bachelor episodes (Jillian Harris, I’ll never forgive you for getting rid of Reid!). But the dark lids is a little confusing to me!
And apparently this isn’t something that has just occurred. If I recall, my senior year high school picture hanging in my alma mater resembles a raccoon.
As does my freshman year sorority composite picture (I show this to you just to help facilitate this discussion… not because of the glamour of it… and in my defense, I did run across campus and all the way to the Kappa house with my best friend in the hot September Kansas heat hence why I looked this way — or this is what I will tell myself and my children and anyone who else asks why I looked this way!):
God, I looked exhausted back in 2001 and I didn’t have a care in the world – except for a cute boyfriend who lived two hours away and trying to figure out how to get the best parking spot in lot B2! Oh 18-year-old Allyson, the things I wish I could tell you then that I know now…
Fast-forward 17 years and I’m still facing the raccoon eyes look that has plagued me since my younger days!
I know how to use makeup to cover it up, which is why Candlelight ShadowSense is the greatest for this exact problem (and also is 10 percent off this week during my Valentine’s Day sale – let me know if you must have it because it is a must-have)! But someday, I would like to be able to wake up with clear skin, put on a little mascara, and lip gloss and not terrify people (or myself) when I walk out the door.
And with my current eye situation in the mornings, that ain’t happening!
This is where you all come in!
You hit it out of the park the last time I had a beauty question – I had so many responses to sift through, it was so much fun and so helpful! And I would have to say that from those recommendations, I came away with a great new mascara and eye makeup remover!
So again… I’m asking for your help! What product(s do I need to help rid my lids of being so dang dark? I don’t do an eye cream at the moment, but know there are tons out there that are great… but I don’t know if any or which ones would help with this specific problem ( as well as eliminate wrinkles, crows feet and any other eye-area problems I have)!
