Happy Friday, friends! Welcome to my favorite day of the week!
A few positives from my week:
- I survived a week of solo parenting without losing my patience in a matter of seconds every day. This is a win!
- The kids had school every day this week. Which helped me in my win above!
- I bought Boom Chicka Pop’s Sweet & Salty Kettle Korn and it is heavenly!
- All of our snow melted (insert numerous happy faces) and it didn’t snow again!
It’s the little things, people!
Matt started watching this before me and told me I needed to watch it. So I kinda sorta watched some of the first season with him.
Then again, he told me the second season had started so I really needed to watch. Some on my Saturday night Mom Night Away at the Drake Hotel a few weekends ago, I watched a few episodes, enough to get caught up to watch the second season with him.
People, we watched the second season SO fast and I hadn’t laughed that hard in SO long! The second season is FREAKING HYSTERICAL! Like… crying, leg-slapping, bed-kicking (we watch our shows on Matt’s iPad curled up in bed because I’d rather be cozy in my bed than cozy on the cold couch) funny!
It’s about six friends that went to Harvard together – hence the name ‘Friends from College’ and now they are basically my age, still buds and insert drama and LOTS of humor.
Just watch. Thank me later.
I know I have mentioned a highlighter on one of my Friday Favorites – it was from an Ipsy box that I received and I still love it, especially to put on my eyes!
I recently came across this highlighter and it is sitting in my BeautyCounter checkout bag. I love that it’s a cream and you can swipe it across your upper cheekbones, above your eyebrow, etc. It says it blends well, is sheer and gives a dewy finished look.
Lauren was here last weekend so we spent an hour at the Loft, tried on many things, (my sister is one of the only people I will go shopping with and actually take the time to try things on) and left with this sweater!
One of our favorite fashion bloggers, Loverly Grey, had it on a few weeks ago and the color was SO pretty! Well… later she explained that it was actually a brighter purple than what we were seeing – her lighting was making it look mauve.
But… I went. I tried it on. And I left with it! It’s really comfortable (I got an XS) and long enough for leggings. And just a really fun punch of color!
You guys, I already have this book pre-ordered!
For those of you that love some good organizational eye-candy, feast your eyes on this book! Two gals got together and formed a home organization company. Finding ways to make your life more functional as well as aesthetically pleasing.
I seriously need to work for them! 🙂
But I had to get this book because I love some of the ideas it gives on the decor side of getting organized! So… it’s coming to me in March!
Guys… it is no secret that Chicago is not our forever home. It’s our current home and we are enjoying it!
But it’s not forever.
Someday, I plan to live in a forever home. Where I can hang things on the walls as I please and not think about how I will need to cover those holes up when we put it in on the market.
I haven’t had that feeling in over nine years!
But I keep seeing this sign pop up on my Facebook feed… and every time I see it, I think, “THAT is going in my forever house!” So it’s on my list of ‘wants’ for that future home, whenever that future home comes. We purchased a sign for my mother-in-law for Christmas from this company and the quality was so good and the price was even better!
So if you’re sign-hunting, or want this one like me, know that it’s going to be top notch! 🙂
Alright friends, have a wonderful weekend! Hopefully you can all get some fresh air OUTSIDE as long as its not 52 below out (I’m OK with not seeing those kinds of temps again EVER). We might be heading the Chicago Auto Show to show Reece a jeep pickup that he and his father desperately want! 🙂 The things you do for the men in your lives (I’ll take a selfie in it for you)!
And as always, GO CATS! BEAT BAYLOR (AND STAY IN FIRST PLACE IN THE BIG 12)!!!!
