Welcome to 2019 and the first edition of Friday Favorites in the new year!
Friends… I got this bag from my sister for Christmas and it is one of my favorite Christmas gifts! It’s weird that I’m saying this. But I love camo.
THIS type of camo. Let’s be clear… there are many camo types out there and all of them I’m against except this. When it becomes more of a neutral.
You can’t go wrong with a Lands End bag and the size of this is perfect with two big pockets on the inside. Plus the handles aren’t too short so it’s easy to throw over my shoulder. I’ve been taking this to the gym with my computer, extra clothes in it and it all fits easily with extra space.
This bag is currently on sale for $19 so click here – take a peek, and then go ahead and just buy it! 🙂
I know I’ve talked to you about self tanning drops before… they were a different brand though and for the face. I cannot remember if I’ve talked to you about THIS brand, though!
I’ve seen a few bloggers talking about these drops and what makes me love them is that you just add a few drops to your moisturizer and let the drops do their work. The more drops you add, the darker the tan will be. This price is also MUCH more reasonable at $29 from Sephora.
I literally went to Sephora today to get these drops and some new face primer (testing out Smashbox’s version – said to be one of the most highly rated) and of course, all of these tanning drops were gone. Because everyone in Chicago doesn’t want to look like a ghost any longer. Or they are leaving of the beach and leaving me here.
Anywho, I smelled this and it did NOT have a self-tanner smell. It did have a smell, but NOT a bad one. I love the idea of these drops versus a tanning mousse or lotion.
It feels like everyone in my family got a new Apple Watch for Christmas (my dad officially owns every Apple product ever made). So… in honor of all of you new Apple Watch users (and to those of us that have been holding down the fort for awhile), these bands from Jane.com are only $8.99 and come in 10 different colors.
I own three of the silicone versions and have never bought one like this that might actually make it dressier. But I think I’m going to have to give it a try! It’s so easy to switch out bands, I don’t know why I wouldn’t!
These bands come in the 38 and 42 mm sizes and are adjustable so don’t worry about them not fitting, you can make them fit!
I blaming it on my age (though I do not, one bit, think that 36 is old but I clearly can’t remember much), but I do not know if I have shared how much I love these socks!
Last year when I purchased my first pair of running shoes, the gal at the shoe store easily talked me into these socks. I don’t buy $16 socks. I buy “5-for-$3” socks. But these socks are worth every penny!
When I got them, the gal told me that you could wear them more than once without washing, even if they got sweaty. For those that know me, they know I don’t work that way. If you wear them, they go in the wash. I don’t want the story on how it’s bad to wash clothes all the time. It’s also bad to wear clothes or jeans that you wore on a bus on a seat that you and 233 other germy people sat in so you are just spreading more germs by not washing them. I am in no way talking to any of my friends (ahem, April).
Anyway, you will be glad to know that I have sometimes worn these socks and then re-worn them and survived! And they honestly aren’t disgusting. Or smell. They also ONLY touched my feet so that makes me feel better. 🙂
But if you’re looking for a good workout sock, seriously, get one pair of these. That’s all you need (but please, for the love of God, do not wear them 10 times and then think that’s when they need to be washed)!
I don’t recommend many books to people because I just don’t read. Or I don’t read as much as others. My mom has a stack of six books from the library that she can finish in two weeks (thank goodness I got my fast reading skills from her). I can finish a book quickly if it’s one that I’m really into.
Which oddly enough has been the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy. I got the first one and it took me a little time to get into it, then I felt like once I finished it, I had to read the next. I just finished the second one and immediately got on Amazon to order the last one (I’m also one that buys the books because I like to fill up a bookshelf with books I’ve actually read – it’s ridiculous) and after two days, I’m about 100 pages in. So… if you need an entertaining read, I highly recommend these!
Crazy Rich Asians is also out on iTunes – my goal was to watch it when I was resting from surgery and it never happened. I was going to watch over Christmas and it never happened.
Maybe this weekend (maybe).
That’s it for this week’s Friday Favorites! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Sloane has her first confession at church (google it) so we will be calming her nerves before she has to tell father all of the wrongdoings in her life. 🙂
And as always, Go Cats! Beat the Cyclones! 😉
