Well hello end of November… you snuck up on me REAL fast! Has anyone gotten a good start on Christmas shopping? Or are you one of those really on-top-of-it people that is already done and I’m cursing you, while really just very, very jealous?!
Either way, I hope you’re still feeling merry… I know that sometimes Christmas time can be high-anxiety. It can be a lot. But I’m really trying to get everything done and able to soak up the season a little more. It truly is my very favorite time of year – besides my birthday. 🙂
On to Friday Favorites…
How many of you love NARS blush in Orgasm (what IS IT with these names)? I’m an addict and have used it for the past two years. But man… as much as I love it, it’s VERY hard to pay $36 for it. So I went on the hunt for a good dupe.
And this Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink is a winner! I ordered mine off of Amazon for $6, but Target also has it at the same price. It felt really good to not spend so much to get the same look. So if you’re like me and love a good drugstore-replica, try this blush!
I know it. You all know it. The blogging world knows that I love a good seasonal scented candle. And when I found these Opalhouse candles at Target, I stood there for at least eight minutes of my life and smelled each scent (there are six adorabley-wrapped candles) at least three times each because I didn’t. Know. What. To. Get.
I eventually forced myself to walk away because I looked like a psycho.
These would be such cute teacher gifts, friend gifts, White Santa gifts, etc. But good look on picking out your favorite smell! (See above paragraphs.)
I started a new Christmas tradition with the gals on my side of the family – Christmas pajamas! And nothing over-the-top or can’t-be-worn-again type of pajamas. Real, comfy pajamas that can be worn as long as you need to stay warm at night and be reminded of Christmas!
This year I snagged a set from Gilligan & O’Malley from Target and they are so great! They are cream-colored jogger-style pants and a longer tunic-type top in waffle weave with a really cute floral/winter plants print throughout and honestly, if you’re in a hurry, I’m pretty sure you could just throw a vest over the top and some jeans or leggings on and go out the door (*FYI, my sister-in-law tried this and it worked). They are super warm and I love that this tradition has been started!
But note to myself: purchase these AFTER Thanksgiving – they are now only $12 on sale. There were also three different patterns to choose from so lots of comfy options!
This is just your yearly reminder to get to your nearest Aldi and pick up atleast three bags of Clancy’s White and Dark Drizzled Caramel Corn IMMEDIATELY. It is so, so, so, so good
Also, pick up the White Cheddar and Cranberry cheese – two packs.
You’ll thank me later!
If you’re looking for a good kids gift that parents won’t hate you for, check this stuff out! The kids and I played with this at the Chicago Children’s Museum and I immediately added it to their Christmas wish list. They love kinetic sand, which I do, too except that I still am cleaning up some kind of mess afterwards.
This stuff is so cool because it’s non-toxic and can be pressed, molded, shaped, squished into any form you want it to be! You can find it on Amazon in lots of colors. Add a set of play-dough tools with this and you’ll have given a great little gift!
PS. When it comes in a resealable bag, you know it’s a winner. 🙂 Amiright, moms?!
That’s all, friends! Have a wonderful weekend, the first official December weekend!
And as always, GO CATS! Beat Marquette (we have transitioned to basketball – Matt, the kids and I are driving up to Milwaukee on Saturday to watch the Cats play Marquette and we are super excited)!
