Happy Friday, friends!
Clearly it’s going to be a slow return to more blogging for me. This week was suppose to my “get after it” week, but then Tess ended up with strep throat and that basically had us down for two days. And then were we are. Ready for the weekend.
Hopefully next week will be my “get after it” week? (PS. Don’t hold your breath on that one…)
But Friday Favorites are here so let’s do this!
Friends, I love shoes. I just hate spending a lot of money on them.
But I also don’t like to buy really cheap shoes and then they hurt my feet. GOOD NEWS THOUGH! I tried these Printed Loafer Mules on from Gap Factory and 1) they were REALLY comfy, 2) they are ADORABLE and will go with everything this fall! and 3) they are under $20!
I prefer this cheetah print because most of the time, I’ve got on a simple top and jeans, so this is a fun print! But this mule also comes in black, tan, and gold and then there is a mule heel option (basically this shoe with a mini block heel attached so still comfortable) that comes in a tan sueded, red suede and a plaid print. All great options and inexpensive options and I love them!
Do you sometimes feel inundated with the millions of skin care lines out there?
I will tell you that I’m pretty happy with my SeneGence skin care line that I use (especially the acne spot treatment that NO LIE works overnight). But then I’ll see a post about Tula, Rodan + Fields, and now Drunk Elephant and I’m like “ohhhhkay, I feel like I need to try this.”
That’s how I came across Drunk Elephant, thanks to a Facebook post and RAVE upon RAVE upon RAVE reviews. The one I’m most excited to try is the C-Firma. Which does exactly what you think it does. Firms the skin. Yes, please! Basically, this is a lot of goodness in two bottles. Bad news is that these are just travel size so they won’t last you months. The good news is that it’s better to test these out for $23 rather than drop a big chunk of change on the full-size and not be happy! Which I do not believe will be the case! 🙂
This is my dining room table that I decorated this past week. I was inspired by an Instagram post by @cottonwoodacres and had so much fun recreating the look! I posted this photo on my InstaStories and had a few people ask me where I got my table runner from.
Let me tell you about my favorite little store in Manhattan, Kan., called Gatherings at 3 Thirteen (that I desperately want the owners to open up a second store so I can run it for them – and I will tell them that every time I visit them, like I did the LAST time I visited them!). This store is a farmhouse-style lovers haven. They have it decorated that every corner you turn, you find something else you need. The prices are INSANELY good, there are so many things to style a room, it’s not just furniture and really big items. It’s signs, wreaths, florals & twigs, tins, lanterns, pillows, ribbon… It’s my happy place to visit when I’m in Manhattan!
And all of that is to say that THIS is the wonderful store that I got my buffalo check table runner from (and one of the owners told me they are getting big buffalo check ribbon in for the holidays that would be so amazing wrapped around a Christmas tree!). They do not have an online store, BUT they are so kind and down-to-earth, if you call and tell them you are looking for the black and white buffalo check table runner, they will know exactly what you are talking about!
Sadly, I can’t remember how much I paid, but I know it was between $17-22. Helpful, right?! 🙂
Here’s the phone number – (785) 320-5380. And make sure you follow them on Facebook! Ooooh, maybe that’s my next idea I throw at them – let me be there social media manager and I can open an online store for them! 🙂
You guys, I honestly can’t remember if I wrote about this last week in my Friday Favorites or not. I don’t think I did (I’m also too lazy to go check). I DO know that I have mentioned this candle to you already, maybe in my InstaStories.
Either way, if you have not purchased at least eight of these candles/wall plug-ins/spray yet (I own all of these), you need to SPRINT to Wal-Mart or Target and get them ASAP. I have already went through three of these candles… and it’s not even the middle of September yet. And I knew that would happen! It is SO good.
It’s the perfect fall smell… it’s not too pumpkiny, or too spicy… it’s the perfect smell of Fall. Just believe me! And buy four of the two-packs of candles! (FYI: Make sure you pay attention to which candle you are picking up. I accidentally grabbed the apple cinnamon on accident and got home and was very bummed – returned the next day and my smell was already sold out!)
If you are like me, you were beaten down by bloggers during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale (and God bless them, they were also worn out from it!). But so many of them were showing a suede Moto jacket this year in all sorts of great colors.
And then as soon as the sale was over, we came across this pretty thing and KNEW Two Dots needed it – sort of like all of us blog-followers needed the Nordstrom jacket! Yet this bad boy is half the cost of that one!
This faux suede jacket is only available in a few sizes as we did a pre-order for it. It is set to arrive at the end of the month so if you’ve been hunting for something like this for the fall, make sure you snag one today from Two Dots to ensure you get one!
And that’s all for today! Best wishes for a relaxing weekend – if you’re on the east coast and in the path of Hurricane Flo, stay safe and know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers!
