Happy Friday, friends!
What’s everybody’s plans for the weekend?! The kids have a Walk-a-Thon at school today and since my mother-in-law is visiting, I finally get to volunteer for something. So I will be handing out water to the kids and picking up trash along the school. Reece’s class will walk in the morning and Sloane’s class will be in the afternoon so another huge perk to us living where we do is that we can sit out on the front stoop and cheer them along when I’m not volunteering!
The older two kids and Matt and I are going to a campout for Matt’s work. If you don’t know me very well, you don’t know that my version of camping is the Holiday Inn. And that may sound snotty, but it’s just my way of saying that I don’t like camping. I like clean bathrooms, air conditioning, comfy beds and room service. All of the things that camping is not!
But I can deal for a night! 🙂 All in the name of love. Seriously … that’s the only reason I’m doing this. 🙂
Today’s first favorite comes to you from my sister.
No joke, she texted me and said “Put this in your Friday Favorites or I’ll hunt you down!” Yikes, OK Lauren! 😉
She said that she used to have to carry a stick of deodorant in her bag with her, but now, she sprays this Secret Active Cool Invisible Spray on in the mornings and it lasts all day. Great timing since it is officially in the hot and smelly part of the year!
And there is nothing worse than feeling clean and smell-free and then walking outside and immediately sweating and stinking. Give this a try!
I hate spending a lot of money on workout clothing, yet it’s the clothing I spend the most time on. Last year, a blogger recommended a pair of shorts from Lululemon and I had them on a wish list forever. But never bought them because again, I have a hard time spending $58 on a pair of shorts.
And then Old Navy came to the rescue with these Mid-Rise 4-Way Stretch Mesh Trim Shorts! I love how they come up a little bit higher – similar to the high-waisted leggings that I love from Old Navy. They come in black and a floral print and I feel like I could probably wear these every day of the summer! And right now, they are on sale for $18!
I’m not sure how many of you plan to do any traveling in the car or airplane this summer (we will be in the car most of the summer so I’m raising my hand right now). If you are and you like to be comfy and not too and not too cold, may I recommend these pants from The Loft?
They are SUPER soft and so comfortable for those times that you need extra comfort… because you are stuck in a car forever with three kids and a husband who won’t let you drive because he doesn’t want to deal with the kids.
Did I say that out loud?! 😉
They come in an olive and dark blue. I might need to get both. Did I mention there will be lots of traveling this summer?!
How friggin’ cute are these little kid sandals from Native? They come in a few different colors and I love the style of them and how they can pretty much go with anything, all summer long!
Did I mention they are only $25? That seems like a heck of a deal for a pair of great quality sandals that will be worn on repeat!
On Wednesday of this week, 20 years had passed since the first episode of Sex and the City aired on HBO. I remember when it first came out and though I didn’t really start watching it until probably until season three, I was very much a big fan.
I loved the relationship these four women had together. I loved the relationships they had with the men in the show. And I loved a good laugh… and sometimes cry! Which this show always gave to me!
I actually started re-watching a few weeks ago, from season one, episode one, not knowing it was soon-to-be the 20th anniversary of its first airing! I’m now on season five, episode four and love it as much now as I did then (I’ve seen almost every episode at least two or three times).
My best friend texted me a month ago and told me about this book coming out and I immediately put it in my cart. It was JUST released on Tuesday and I will be picking it up tomorrow. To take on my camping trip. Because who doesn’t want to read about this great show while camping! 🙂
How many of you are SATC fans? If so, I’ll let you know how this book is! 🙂
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Say a prayer I survive the great outdoors! 😉
