Happy Friday, friends! What a week! I feel like it’s been the longest week ever with kids off of school, getting back into routines, sick kids… yeah. Moving on to the weekend and a new week sounds good to me!
Stating big, friends!
Let’s take a little trip down memory lane… In 2002, I was a sophomore at K-State and about to begin sorority recruitment at Kappa. On one of the recruitment days, our attire was overalls. I tossed them a few years later because who on earth would wear overalls again?
We have come full circle.
They come in a few different color options, but I like this color of wash versus a super dark one. Check them out… and tell me what you think! Can you get back on the overalls bandwagon?!
Then Lauren and I were perusing American Eagle at the mall in Manhattan one day (hadn’t been in there since 2005) and these were on sale for $6. So it was kind of a no-brainer!
Sadly, they don’t exist online anymore so I found a few other options. This pair above is from my favorite boutique here in Chicago – Alice & Wonder. I also found a similar pair in a blush pink from Urban Outfitters.
They are SUPER warm, have the option to take the top half off for exposed fingers, which helps when I’m trying to lock and unlock doors, unbuckle carseat belts, zip up kids coats, etc. Big fan!
I’m a self-proclaimed neat freak and my life-long dream is to have everything in my home organized. You might be surprised that it currently is not, but when you move from a large home to a small condo, it gets hard to be super organized without just throwing everything away (which I feel like we did when we moved in here)!
I recently spent an evening cleaning out a few of my parents kitchen cabinets and (sadly) it was the most fun I have had in a long time! But let me tell you… if I had thought about it early enough, I would have gotten them these as Christmas gifts!
These Rubbermaid storage containers are plastic, leak-proof, and CLEAR which I think is SO nice to have especially when it comes to leftovers in the fridge – nice see-through containers that stack so you can actually see what is available to eat in said container!
These come in a 10-piece set for $12 or you can add on pieces. We have SO much cruddy storage containers that I would gladly toss all of them for two sets of this stuff. It would clear up so much room in my cabinets as well as be nice and neat.
Two words that make my heart go pitter-patter.
This Tarte Fake Awake Eye Highlighter is made for those that wake up looking tired for whatever reason: child, fun night out, too many drinks, child… It’s a twist-up creamy-gel eyeliner so it goes on smoothly on the inner rim of your eye. You can also use it on your brow bone and on the inner corner of your eye and smudge in to open those areas up.
I mean… why am I just now hearing about this?!
I have made a sort-of pledge to myself that I will limit the amount of home decor I purchase for our current home because it is small. I don’t have a lot of room for extra’s. And someday, I hope to resume life in a larger place and have room to go shopping for home decor again!
So these really just have me day-dreaming about that day. I can totally envision these by a fireplace with greenery in them during the winter time or cotton stems during the spring. Olive baskets are very in (thanks to Chip & Jo) so $20 for two is a steal! I also love this site! You can sign up to receive daily emails from them. Check out Decor Steals!
A few things to note…
